Why I love Being 33 Years Old.

This week I turned 33.  The big 3-3.  Yes, that is my real age and no, I am not ashamed to tell you that.

And you know what, I love being this age.  I remember older people used to tell me that they would never choose to go back to being younger because life was not as good as it is now.  And now I know that this is really true.  I am so happy with where I am in my life right now.  Let me just give you a reasons why.
Why I Love Being 33
At 33, I am happily married to a man I really love.  No more wishing I was married, no more awkward dates and uncomfortable scenes.  We will be coming up on our 10 year wedding anniversary pretty soon and it feels amazing to have made it this far!  Marriage has done wonders for my self esteem and body confidence.  My husband and I have been together long enough now that we get a long pretty good. I am seriously proud of my marriage at this stage in the game and it took me to get to 33 to get here.

Here's another example.  At 33, I have three children that are all basically out of the baby stage.  I am really thankful for this because people this stuff is hard, really hard, and the lack of sleep and mental exhaustion can age you like nobody's business.  Don't get me wrong, large families are beautiful and I know every mother wishes they had more children when their babies grow up.  Your hard work will definitely pay off and you will be so proud of all the work you put in.  But yes, children are just a ton, and I mean a TON - of work, and everyone has a different personality and basically my personality finds it very hard to have three little kids.

So yes, life really is better the older you get.  Yes it's true, you don't look as young as you used to, but were you really happy when you were that young?  Let's be honest.  Most of us had way more self esteem and body issues when we were younger, even if we were skinnier when we were younger - see more on my personal body image struggle on my About page.

The older you get the more you figure life out and the more you have stability in your life.  So yes, I love being 33 and I love my thirties!  They are way better than my twenties and they are way, way better than my teens were.

So, does anyone want to see what I got for my birthday?  Here's my birthday haul for birthday number 3-3:
1.  A pair of new sheets -  the three babies had completely and utterly destroyed the old pair.

2. 4 doTerra essential oils.  Two were new ones I never tried before - Cedarwood and DeepBlue.  The other two were my two favorite ones I needed more of - Oregano and Peppermint.  See my post called My Top 5 Essential Oils and How I Use Them  to learn how I used the oils I got.

3.  A bunch of new dark brown and copper eyeshadows and liquid lipstick from ColourPop Cosmetics.  See my post on the 6 Must Have ColourPop Eyeshadows for Fall 2016 to see which shadows they were.  The liquid lipstick I got was was Vice, my most used and all time favorite liquid lipstick of all time.  This was my third refill.  See my post Must Have Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick to see what vice looks like on me.

4.  Some new brushes from Morphe Brushes.  I got a few blending eye brushes I had been eyeing for a while, a foundation brush, and another blush brush since I alternate between hot corals and rosy pinks and didn't want to keep mixing the two colors on one brush.  See my post Best Foundation Brush for Flawless, Full Coverage Application to see how I used some of the brushes I got.

From top to bottom, the brushes are: M439, M321, M441, M433, E4.

5.  Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in the color Linen.  I was given a sample of this in Alabaster from Sephora and loved it just wanted a slightly more beige color which is why I got Linen, once shade down.  I use Clinique Beyond Perfecting as a dupe of Mac Paint Pot to prime my eyes before my shadows go on.  I also use it under my eyes as another layer of concealer.   Super high quality stuff and very reasonably priced.

6.  A free birthday gift from Sephora and Ulta.  Sephora's was a soy face cleanser and rose face mask from Fresh, a super high quality ingredient brand.  See my post Best Everyday Face Cleanser Products of 2016  to learn why this cleanser is one of the best.  Ulta's gift was a nude Urban Decay eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy, which is the perfect eyelid primer by the way!

8.  And lastly, the best gift of all, something I have actually had since I was 18, is a saving relationship with Jesus, my Lord and Savior.  To read more about how getting to know Jesus radically changed my life when I was in a very dark place, please see my page, About.

To sum it up, it was basically a super perfect birthday for a super perfect age.  Shout out to all my ladies turning thirty something this year!!
