Today I want to share with you a makeup haul from one of my favorite cosmetics company, ColourPop Cosmetics.  If you read The Makeup Equation, you know that I'm one of Colourpop's biggest fans.  You can view my other posts on ColourPop Cosmetics, and my exact reasons for being such a fan of this company, here:  6 Must Have ColourPop Eyeshadows, Must Have ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips and ColourPop Eyeshadow Glitter Collection.

Over Memorial Day Weekend, ColourPop Cosmetics was having a bunch of sale promos, so I thought it was a perfect time to stock up on some of their new products that I had been dying to try out. I purchased a bunch of eyeshadows from their Pressed Power Shadow collection, one of their new Lippie Stix, and a few of their new Lippie Pencils.  If you'd like to see what everything looks like and my thoughts on all these new products, please keep reading.

As I mentioned above, ColourPop is great about running special promos and offering big discounts during holidays.  During Memorial Day weekend they were running a promo for free domestic shipping as well as a free super sock shadow in "Birthday Cake" with any order over $10.  Since I had been eyeing a bunch of their new products for a while, I knew now would be the best time to stock up on some of these goodies.  The order shipped out super quick and I got my stuff almost immediately.

Let's take a look at what I received in the mail:

I ordered five new pressed powder shadows, four new lippie pencils, and a new lippie stix.  I also received the free birthday cake super shock eyeshadow as promised.

Let's first take a look at the lip products.

If you read The Makeup Equation, you know that I am a big nude girl.  I wear nude colored lipstick about 95% of the time.  I wear pink-toned nudes, such as NYX Lip Lingerie ~ Silk Indulgent 22, and I wear cool-toned browner nudes, such as Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick (Midi). All of this means that I am always on the hunt for nude lip liners that go with all my different shades of nudes.

ColourPop recently came out with two new lippie pencils in the nude range:

Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Toy)

Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Oh Snap)

I compared these two new ones to two ColourPop lippie pencils I already had:

Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Skimpy)

Colourpop Lippie Pencil - Bound

Here are the swatches of all four:

As you can see, Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Toy) came out being the lightest.  I think it matched some my of my nude liquid lipsticks, like NYX Lip Lingerie ~ Silk Indulgent 22, exactly however I'm not that's what I wanted because you always want your lip liner to be a little darker than your actual lip color.  Because of this, I'm not sure if I will be able to use Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Toy), except when I want to line my lips for gloss and make it look like I have nothing on.  I will have to stick to using Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Skimpy) for my light brown nude liner, since it's a little darker.

I was more happy with Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Oh Snap), which was very similar to Bound, but slightly lighter, which is exactly what I wanted.  I love Colourpop Lippie Pencil - Bound and use it frequently and it is a dupe of Mac's uber popular "Whirl" pencil - see here: MAC Other - Lip Pencil - Whirl by MAC.  My only problem with Colourpop Lippie Pencil - Bound is that it is slightly too dark, and doesn't blend into my nude liquid lipsticks as much as I would like.   Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Oh Snap)is the perfect balance, as it is very similar in color to bound, but lighter.  I think Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Oh Snap) will now be my go to lip liner for my pink nude lip days.

I liked the new formula of the lippie pencils.  It was more creamy than the old formula, but not too much, and I found it to be less dry and hard to draw than the old lippie pencils.

In the picture above you will also see a swatch labeled Birdy.  This is one of Colourpop's new lippie stix.  I really loved the color of Birdy and will apply it over my pink nude liquid lipsticks and liner to smooth everything out.  I would say that the new formula of these lippie stix is more creamy than the old formular and almost a little on the wet side.  I would prefer them to be less wet to prevent bleeding, but I can still use it and for the price, it's a great backup to stick in your purse when you don't have your main lipstick.

Below is a picture of me wearing NYX Lip Lingerie ~ Silk Indulgent 22 as my liquid liner, Colourpop Lippie Pencil (Oh Snap) to line my lips, and Birdy on top of everything:

In the picture above, I am using some of the new pressed powders to create my smoky plum look.

So no let's get into the pressed power shadow I ordered.  Let me start off by saying that ColourPop's pressed powder shadows are excellent.  They are extremely pigmented, and you don't need to apply a few times to get strong color.  Literally one application and your lid will be highly pigmented with their pressed powder.  I love the formula, it's not dry, not too wet, its absolutely perfect.  Their pressed powder shadows are now the only shadows I am ordering from them. Truly a job well done to whoever created this new eyeshadow line!  Here are some up close pictures of the pressed powders I purchased:

First, I'll start with the plum shades.  I am super into plum eyeshadow because I have hazel eyes and purple makes green eyes really pop.  Here are the three plum shade pressed powders I purchased:

I am not exaggerating when I say that I was truly on "cloud nine" when I tried this cloud nine pressed powder shadow from ColourPop.  This shadow is just gorgeous.  It is a matte finish and is a very dark, purplish-black plum.  The purple undertones are very clear in it, as you can see from my picture above.  This color is just beautiful for any smokey eye or to line the eyes.  I will absolutely be using this on the daily.  My new favorite shadow!!!

Colourpop Pressed Powder Eye Shadow - Pinky Promise

Pinky Promise is another gorgeous pressed eyeshadow.  This color will go well with any muave or purple looks, and because it has glitter and sparkle to it, it will look great in the center or inner part of the eye.

ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadow in Too Much

This is another gorgeous plum color, but less dark and with less black than Cloud Nine.  I am wearing Too Much on my lid in the picture above.  This received a mixed review from a customer on ColourPop's site only because she said it was slightly messy.  This to me isn't a problem, if I need a shadow to be messy to give me high pigment and color on my first application, I'll take that any day.  This is another favorite of mine and I intend to use it frequently.

The other two pressed powder shadow I purchased where nudes.

I purchased Colourpop Pressed Powder Eye Shadow (Matte-Locked and Loaded) as a primer for my eyes. It did a great job and was highly pigmented and didn't require too many applications.   Here is what it looks like:

I also purchased ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadow in Let Me Explain, which is a super high glitter white, which looks fantastic in the inner corner of the eye as a highlighter and literally only requires one application!  Let Me Explain is now my new favorite inner corner highlight eyeshadow, and I have it on in the picture above.  Here is another close up of me wearing the shade in my inner corner:

Here is what Let Me Explain looks like:

And finally, here is the gorgeous free super shock shadow I received in Birthday Cake:

I would describe this super shock shadow as being very similar to their eyeshadow Colourpop Super Shock Shadow - LALA - Metallic by Colourpop and Colourpop Super Shock Metallic Eyeshadow (Sequin), both of which make gorgeous lid colors and will make eyes pop.  I own both of them and use very frequently, they go great with nude lips.

I hope you enjoyed this review of my ColourPop Cosmetics haul.  This company is constantly coming out with better and better products, yet still keeping their prices super affordable and their ingredients high quality.  You can get $5 off your first order with my personal link: $5 OFF!
