My Four Secret Tricks To Grow Hair Faster.

It can be frustrating to feel like your hair never grows.  Especially when you are trying really to hard to grow it out, whether it's because you want your natural color again, or because you recently cut it short.  You can read more about why I am growing my hair out in my post, 8 Beauty Resolutions To Help You Achieve Goalz Status.  Here are my four personal tips to making your hair grow faster.  I have noticed a marked difference in how fast my hair grows when I do these things.

tricks to get faster hair growth

If you read The Makeup Equation, you know that I am a huge color chameleon.  You can read more about my escapades in dying my own hair in my posts, DIY Platinum White Hair Recipe and  How To Dye Damaged Hair Bright Magenta Red DIY .  All this coloring left my hair very damaged and I had to cut a lot off as a result.  I am now currently in the process of letting my natural hair grow out and since I love long hair, I am trying to make it grow out as quickly as I can.

Here are my four secret tips to get your hair growing faster.  I can tell you from personal experience over many years that these secret tricks do work!  Please keep in mind however than I am not a licensed hair stylist or doctor, this is simply what I do to make my hair grow a lot faster.

1. Cardiovascular Exercise.

This is my biggest and best secret for growing hair fast!  Any type of cardiovascular exercise has always increased my hair growth dramatically.  The absolute best thing you can do to speed up hair growth is participate in some type of cardiovascular exercise at least a few times a week.  I am not well versed on all the science behind this, but I think it has something to do with getting more oxygen.  Regardless of how it works, what matters is that it works, and you will absolutely notice a difference.

2.  Biotin.

I know that some people question whether biotin supplements really do anything for hair growth, but speaking from personal experience, I think they do.  I think the key is to buy the correct form of biotin: d-biotin.  I have always seen more hair growth when I take a d-biotin supplement on a regular basis.  I also notice that my nails grow faster when I take biotin.  Because I am allergic to most waxes - See my post, Wax Free Lip Product List, to learn more about this - I only take biotin supplements that have no wax.  This rules out biotin gummies for me because almost all gummies have an outside wax coating.

This is the exact brand of biotin that I am currently taking right now: Biotin. I used to take about 2000mcgs of d-biotin every other day, but currently there is a 7500 mcg version of this brand that is even cheaper than the 1000mcg bottle, so I currently take one 7500mcg pill of biotin every other day.

3.  Wash your hair less.

I know that this point sounds a little gross, but it is the natural oils of the hair that help to stimulate hair growth.  As gross as oily hair can be, it actually is good for the hair.  I am not saying to let your hair get super oily and dirty, but just space out how frequently you wash it.  Instead of washing your hair every day or every other day, try to wash every two or three days if you can.  Four to five days is even better!  This will allow some of your natural oils to to accumulate and stick around on your scalp a little more.

4.  Scalp massages.

I don't think I know of any girl out there that doesn't love a good scalp massage! Not only do they feel great, but they actually promotes hair growth too!  If you are single, or your man just isn't into the whole scalp massage thing, (mine!), you can do it yourself.  Try to massage your head for a few minutes each night when going to bed, or when washing your hair in the shower.  You can also buy little scalp massage gadgets - see here: Scalp Massager - that will do the same thing for you.  I have always had sort of a weird habit of touching my scalp a lot and it does wonders to stimulate my scalp and promote hair growth.

I hope you enjoyed my four point guide to getting your hair to grow faster.  As I mentioned above, I am not well versed in the science behind it, but for whatever the reasons are, these four things have really helped my hair grow fast every time I wanted to.  Here's wishing you lot's of success on your hair growth journey!  And I'd love to hear from you if you see a difference in your hair growth after trying out my methods.
