If you read The Makeup Equation, you know that I have written a LOT about urinary tract infections (UTIs), vaginal infections, and how to cure these debilitating infections with very powerful and natural antibiotics.  Today I am going to reveal my BIGGEST secret for preventing these terrible infections from ever starting in the first place.  I suffered from these crippling infections for most of my life.  After I finally learned how to free myself from the bondage caused by this wicked cycle of infections, doctors visits, and synthetic antibiotics, I made it my mission to teach other women to do the same.  I invite you to come along with me and learn this final piece of the puzzle that will stop the horror of UTI infections in their tracks.

While there are many powerful, natural substances that can heal and cure a UTI and vaginal infection, the very best position to be in is the one of not ever having one at all.  So how do you prevent these types of infections from every occurring in the first place, especially if you are sexually active?

As most women know, sex greatly increases the chance of contracting a urinary tract infection and/or a vaginal infection.  The main reason for this really comes down to the anatomy of the female body.  Very unfortunately for us women, the anus is perilously close to the vagina, and also only a few inches more away from the urethra.  The close proximity of the anus to the vagina and urethra make it absolutely imperative that a woman be completely clean before she has sex.  A good shower is always recommended before having sex.

Unfortunately however, a quick spray or soak in water will not always remove remains of leftover poop.  It is imperative that these remains be removed completely because it is the poop that contain the bacteria that cause UTI and vaginal infections, the main bacteria being E. Coli and Staph.  You can reduce the amount of E.Coli and Staph found in your poop by cutting out animal protein.  I have found that I am particularly sensitive to raw egg and seem to always feel UTIs coming on after I eat moist baked goods that contain egg if I am slightly dehydrated and don't follow the protocol I am going to talk about below.  For more on this subject, and to see the exact sources that state the connection between UTI infections and animal protein, and to learn which types of animal protein are bad for us girls,  see my post, 3 Reasons to Go Vegetarian.

While cutting out the above mentioned foods is a huge step in the right direction, the very best way to ensure you never get a UTI or vaginal infection in the first place is to rid your skin of all leftover poop.  Showers and baths are great, but they won't clean you as completely as something else will.  Are you ready to learn how I recommend all women clean themselves after going number two??    This method will dramatically reduce the amount of leftover poop in your anus, and hence dramatically reduce the amount of infections you get.  Please keep reading to find out this secret that every girl and women needs to know!

Here is my final secret:  Do not wipe with toilet paper!  Toilet paper is terrible at removing waste, and if you use it excessively, it will give you hemorrhoids!  So what do you use instead you ask?  Baby wipes!! Yes ladies, this is the secret that I wish I had been told so many years ago!

Just think about it.  If you have had babies, you know how well baby wipes clean a little baby's bottom.  Baby wipes work just as good for adults.  The best part is that they will not give you a hemorrhoid if you use a few of them!

Because I love you guys, here is my very detailed recommended protocol for preventing an infection after sexual intercourse.  I will list things that you need to do both before, during, and after sex:

Clean Sex Protocol:

1. Use baby wipes to clean yourself whenever you go number two.  Feel free to use as many as you need.  Put a pack of baby wipes in your purse if you ever need to go when you are not home.  I prefer to use unscented baby wipes because fragrances and perfumes can throw of the delicate balance of the vagina.

2. Shower carefully before sex.  While I say shower carefully, I do NOT mean cover yourself in body wash or soap.  Soaps can actually disturb the very delicate balance of the vagina, especially if they are heavily scented, so I always try to go easy on the soap in those delicate areas.  Simple water will work well enough to clean the skin.

3. Stay hydrated and drink enough water throughout the day so that you can pee regularly immediately after sex.  I know it's fun to cuddle afterwards but peeing after sex is imperative to preventing bacteria that may have been pushed into your urethra from climbing further into your bladder.  In between intercourse sessions, take a break to empty your bladder fully.  This washes out bacteria before it ever gets a chance to start making a home in your bladder.

4.  Take one teaspoon of this Powder in not more than 4 ounces of water after you finish having sex.  This powder will bind any bacteria that got pushed into the urethra during intercourse.  Once it binds to the bacteria, it will prevent it from clinging to the walls of your bladder, and force it to be washed out when you pee

5.  Stay hydrated the following day and if you feel a vaginal infection coming on, take one of these pills.  Please note that you cannot take these pills if you are pregnant or nursing.  Another safe alternative that can be used is this item, which I have had very fantastic results with as well!

6.  Enjoy the many, many benefits of a healthy urinary tract!!

I sincerely hope this post will help all UTI suffers everywhere!!  As someone that has suffered many of these awful infections, I truly know how debilitating they are, and how they can absolutely destroy a person's life.  Follow these tips and enjoy being healthy and intimate with your husband!!
